One of the most visually striking CBD mixed-use developments in Melbourne’s history, the now-complete West Side Place precinct redefines inner-city luxe living.
The $2.4 billion development by Far East Consortium is a master-planned precinct, anchored by four soaring towers, covering a full city block on the corner of Spencer and Lonsdale streets.

YPM Avanti Director of Projects Jessica Campbell says potential buyers cannot believe the design and level of amenity available to residents at West Side Place.
“There’s everything. Karaoke rooms, billiard tables, 25-metre pools, gyms, Pilates studios, wellness rooms, libraries – anything you can think of is there,” she says.
“Multiple dining rooms to book, wine tasting rooms and wine cellars… the list is endless.”
West Side Place is also home to Melbourne’s only Ritz-Carlton Hotel – synonymous with international luxury – and Dorsett Hotel, creating a vibrant entertainment hub with five-star amenities.

Growth Location
The future-focused development is a groundbreaking addition to the western end of the CBD, which is experiencing a tourism increase of 153% since September 2021, according to a recent Market Outlook report by Urbis.
“Marvel Stadium, waterfront dining, entertainment and shopping are key drivers of this uptick, as the precinct continues to add new amenity,” the report says.
A combination of rising population and overseas migration, would see Melbourne’s apartment demand outstripping supply, Urbis found.
The median weekly rent in Melbourne’s CBD is currently $650, according to PropTrack data.
The next five years will see new infrastructure and growing activity in the CBD’s west, with offices and major company headquarters set to bring further demand for local accommodation.

“With Melbourne forecast to be Australia’s most populous city by 2031, developments such as West Side Place showcase the western CBD’s stellar potential,” Campbell says.
“We have a lot of downsizers coming in from regional who want that city pad. Numerous professionals who are fly-in, fly-out want to be central and have access to the airport,” she says.
“Investors, first-home buyers. It’s a real mix.”

There are multiple dining rooms and opulent spaces for residents to enjoy.
If amenities that include sky gardens and cinemas aren’t enough, West Side Place is surrounded by fantastic retail, hospitality, and lifestyle opportunities in a thriving locale.
The presence of The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne allows residents to access some of the hotel’s world-class amenities without even leaving the precinct, such as the sky-high Atria restaurant on level 80, or the rejuvenating Ritz-Carlton Spa.
As well as featuring its own pocket park and greenery, promoting a sense of tranquillity in an inner-city environment, West Side Place is also close to local parks, gardens and prominent universities.
By including easy access to a ground-breaking stream of luxury amenities, West Side Place is helping residents improve their quality of life and enjoy relaxing, inspiring experiences.
“No more construction onsite, unlike some projects that are still being staged and might still have construction on the doorstep,” Campbell says.
“West Side Place is completed now, and ready to move in.”
